Hair cut too short and not growing back?

My neice decided to cut her own bangs, and as most kids do, she cut them way too short (practically gone). However, it it has been a year and a half to two years and her bangs have not grown back at all. Anyone have anything similar? I thought this was weird, and obviously my neice wants her hair to grow back since it looks a little strange (only noticeble if you really pay attention, but it is noticeble). What can she do about it? All she has is like an inch or so of hair in that area and now it bothers her greatly. I am stumped. I know eyelashes can take awhile to grow back if cut (a guy told me this), could her hair be like that too? The rest of her hair she can cut and it grows like normal.

this is really weird. hair is upposed to grow 1/2 inch every month. u shud talk to a doctor about whats wrong and if there is any hair products or medication to help it.

I've never heard of someones hair not growing back...I would probably want to get that checked out! Are you sure she isn't "trimming" it??

alright this is a simple answer ..... My daughter did this once... "she to cut her hair off to short".... I want you to go to the store tomorrow.. grab eggs and beer..... if your not old enough have her mother do it.... I want you to mix these two things together... pour the stuff in her hair... I know its gross... but it will work... leave it on for 5 mins..rubbing it in to the spot that won't grow back... and then wash it off do this twice a week for the next month.. you should see some progress if you do great repeat for another month until hair is grown.... also if its an inch braid it tightly every night... I know an inch is not alot but it can be done use a very small rubber band... make sure she wets her hair before she does this... the tighter the better.... in the morn take it out ... wet it again... then rebraid it....do this all the time.... with the help of the beer egg mixture it will grow back,......

That doesn't make sense that she cut that area almost 2 years ago and she only has an inch of growth. Cutting hair is external and has nothing to do with its growth. Growing starts inside the scalp and hair is not a living substance. Hair grows on average about 1/2 an inch a month. The reason for her hair not growing in that spot could be hereditary, alopecia or trauma to that area like constant hair pulling. She should get that checked out by a doctor.

I have 2 friends who's hair grow slower in some parts than it does in others. One of them didn't start looking normal untill high school.

The only thing that i know that can cause help hair grow faster is tie it in a pony tail. so i guess tie the bangs tight when she goes to bed or is around the house.
