I'm getting my haircut on Friday but I'm scared that when I go back to school everyone will laugh at me and think why did you get your haircut short. I am very nervous! please help

cut your hair exactly the way you want it and wear it with confidence! it's your hair. it grows back. if other people laugh it's because either they are jealous or they see a weakness in you that they cruelly want to exploit. so just do your hair, enjoy it, be confident with it and if they laugh just laugh back...with joy at how fabulous you are.

Honey, since when do your friends dictate your style? They aren't the ones caring for or wearing your hair, it's not their place to say. If you think the style is gonna look good on you then go for it. You don't let them pick out your clothes.

I know what you mean when you say friends can be judgemental- I know my friends are! And it doesn't mean they're not my friends. So even though everyone is saying "it's your hair who cares if your friends like it" and "they're not your true friends" etc. I can tell those answers are not going to change the way you feel- they wouldn't me!

So why don't you ask them what they think of the style you're getting before you get it- if they say they like it and you can tell they're telling the truth then it's fine. If there's a "group leader" (there's always one- I should know!), as long as she gives it the OK, you should be fine.

Or if they're not looking convinced, ask them what they would change about it. That way if you get it cut with the changes they suggested, they can't say it looks bad without saying their own suggestions were bad and contradicting themsleves. Do you see what I mean??

Also, if they know much about fashion, they should know the short bob is "in", and when something is in fashion, girls are kind of "forced" to like it as "the designers/celebs have spoken".. (and designers/celebs "rule" this modern world kind of Lol). I don't know if you're getting a bob, but still, short is in.

My friend got her hair cut short recently and I wondered what our other friends would think- as they can really b*tch!-, but they liked it and practically the whole YEAR complimented her! I was kind of surprised, but it DOES look nice. People seem to respect drastic change- it's interesting and without it they might think you're boring!

So go for it and remember to ask them what they think before- once they say they like it and your other friends know, they can't then go back on what they said- your friends will know they're lying.
