DO NOT CU IT SHORTTT! i have really poofy hair too, and i made that mistake once, and i would never do it again. it was horrible!!!!!! if i were you i would cut it like 2 inches past the shoulder, and get it layger/thinnned...alot. and then straight it when needed. thats what i do.

Poofy hair needs to be weighed down in order to make it less poofy. i recommend paul mitchell super skinny shampoo and condition (and perhaps the serum) to make your hair less poofy. but that alone wont help, you have to straighten it afterwards. good luck, i feel your pain

Anywho, if your hair is long now and you've never had it short before, try cutting off length inch by inch to make sure you don't stray to a danger zone. Like go and get it cut a bit shorter now, and a little bit shorter next time, on and one until you find a length that works.

i have very poofy hair and i think that the poof will get worse if you cut it short, i suggest getting it thinned with a razor brush not thinning shears make sure of that, and then maybe a trim and oil treatment that way when your hair poofs it will be alittle more tamed and it will still have pretty curls.
