The cut is up to your hair line in the back then slanted/angled down so your front is a little lower then your chin. (at chin length is cute too!) The back layers would be stacked to give you volume without having to do much to it! This cut looks great with a side part and side bangs. I have fine but very dense curly hair.

I want to cut it short but I am worried it will turn into an afro.

I have alot of styling products and I am pretty dedicated to my hair. I want to cut it short so that it brings out the curl, but also if I wanted to straighten it, it will have texture.

Your best bet would be to get a razor cut. Blunt cuts tend to make curly hair "afro" out.

Razoring would be what I'd suggest but scissors in the right hands could accomplish sort of the same thing. If you watch Nick Arrojo on ~What Not To Wear~, he has a wonderful technique of zig-zagging the hair with shears but not evey stylist is capable of that. You need to taper the ends to get the look you want and you're going to have to be very vigilant with quality products to keep it soft and shiny but under control. With a good cut, styling should not be difficult at all. And don't try cutting it YOURSELF! Good Luck.

He had hair past his shoulder's but, it was wavy and it just looked like a mop due to it being so curly on the sides of his head. He told me last night to cut it super short and spikey.... he then freaked out when i got to the top, the sides and back are all super short. The top is like 3 inches long and looks bad to me, he said to leave it and he is going to try to grow it back out. Now it just look's like a bad haircut. He is so embarressed now and want's his long hair back......... I want him to finish the top and maybe get some texture put in it or something...........any advice? He swears nobody has short hair and its not going to come back in style...... any advice to help him feel better about himself ? know of any celeb, teens i can show him pics of with short hair??? I feel so horrible for him. Any help would be great. Thanks

You should tell him that girls dig that sort of hair. Tell him that people will think he's cool because he's not afraid to show it off. Tell him that it looks great and also get family members or friends to compliment it all the time. Get them to say stuff like "That hair makes you lok soo much better and slimmer" or something like that. He could also wear a hat. Hope this helps and good luck to your son.

Short hair styles are all over the place, and he'll be able to find something he likes to do with it. Or he'll wear a hat till it grows out.

to help your hair grow faster you can take prenatal vitamins thats what i did along with making sure you dont have any split ends *although cutting off the split ends make it shorter it will grow quicker then if you dont* the vitamins will also make your nails stronger and grow quicker as well keep in mind though if you want your hair to your waist that wont happen over night probably like 3 months thats how long it has taken me i dont know any thing about hair extentions or weives so i cant help you there
